Whitney Smith

Hello My Name Is...

Whitney Smith

Life Skills

Welcome to Woodland Spring Middle School! My name is Whitney Smith and I am currently a Special Education teacher working with 6th through 8th grade Stallions. Previously, I taught for seven years in Missouri, as a Special Education teacher, as last year as a Resource teacher at Spring Hill Middle School. I received my undergraduate degree from Central Missouri. Upon my first year teaching, I decided to further invest in my education, and received my Master’s in Secondary Administration from William Woods University.

During the school year, your Stallion will be working on remediation for their Individualized Education Plan goals, self-advocacy skills, and functional living skills to prepare them for life after middle school. A wonderful aspect of having your Stallion in my class, is that the curriculum is flexible and fits your student's need. We are also able to adjust lessons to prepare for any new concepts or re-teaching that arises. I look forward to working as a collaborative team to ensure our Stallions are prepared and successful for what lies ahead for each of them! I encourage you to reach out to me during the school year with any questions or concerns. Let’s have a great year! Go Stallions!
