With over two decades of experience in education and a proven track record of instructional leadership, Tauer brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and commitment to her new role. Angela Tauer began her career in education in 2000 after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Emporia State University. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Kansas, preparing her for leadership roles that focus on collaboration, student achievement, and school improvement.
Tauer has served in several key instructional roles, most recently teaching English, Creative Writing, and World Literature at USD 230. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a consistent commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Her previous positions include teaching 5th and 6th grade in other school districts, where she took on leadership roles such as curriculum team leader, Professional Learning Community (PLC) facilitator, and Job-Embedded Staff Development team leader.
"I am excited to have Angie Tauer join the WSMS community once again," said WSMS Principal Paul Carter. "With 25 years in education, she brings a wealth of teaching and coaching knowledge to our school that will be vital to us reaching our goals. She will be able to transition into this new role and help our Stallion community in a great way. I am looking forward to getting to work with her and seeing the new ideas she will bring. "
At WSMS, Tauer will draw upon her strong background in communication, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making to support both students and staff. Her ability to build strong relationships, lead professional development, and promote student-centered programming makes her a natural fit for guiding WSMS’s academic and extracurricular efforts.
“I am incredibly honored to serve as the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Woodland Spring Middle School," said Tauer. "After 17 years in the Spring Hill School District, I continue to be inspired by the students, staff, and families that make this community so special. I’m excited to return to the middle school level and look forward to supporting our students both in the classroom and through athletics. It is a privilege and honor to take on this new role in a district I truly love.”
Please join us in welcoming Angela Tauer to Woodland Spring Middle School. She will begin her new role on July 16, 2025.
